In 1997 Kevin was interviewed by CHCH television in relation to the action commenced by Stephen Giles against the provincial government following the 1995 riot outside the Ontario Provincial Parliament.  On that occasion an overzealous member of the the Ontario Provincial Police riot squad violently struck Mr. Giles, a probation and parole officer, over the head with a police baton.  The action was ultimately settled in favour of Mr. Giles by the payment of an undisclosed monetary sum.
