On August 15, 2005 New Tecumseth Free Press Online referred to Kevin’s involvement in the operation of the Carmen Vanderwater Medical Centre (named in honour of his late sister) in Alliston, Ontario.  Carmen passed away on July 27, 2002 of thombotic thrombocytopenia purpura following a stem cell transplant to treat her acute lymphocytic leukemia.  In 2004 Kevin established a medical centre in the Town of Alliston in Carmen’s memory.  As of 2019 the Carmen Vanderwater Medical Centre is the home to 5 physicians and a pharmacy.
